Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using The Hockey Lab (“the app”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the app. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement. Users under 18 should have a parent or guardian review these Terms.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You may not share your credentials or allow others to access your account. Notify us immediately at legal@thehockeylab.app if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Acceptable Use

When using the app and its social features, you agree not to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, or abuse other users.
• Post or share content that is illegal, sexually explicit, hateful, or violent.
• Impersonate another person or entity.
• Use the app to distribute spam, malware, or unsolicited commercial messages.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the app or its infrastructure.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically collect data from the app without our written permission.
• Use the app for any purpose that violates applicable laws or regulations.

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without notice.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create (posts, photos, speed recordings). By uploading content you grant The Hockey Lab a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and distribute it within the app for the purpose of operating the service.

You are solely responsible for any content you post. Do not share content you do not have the right to share.

6. Reporting Harmful Content

You can report posts or users that violate these Terms using the report options in the app. We review all reports and take appropriate action, which may include removing content or suspending accounts.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

The Hockey Lab offers optional paid subscription plans that unlock additional features. Subscriptions are billed through Apple’s App Store and are governed by Apple’s payment terms. Prices and features of plans may change; we will give reasonable notice of material changes.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. To cancel, manage your subscription through your Apple ID settings.

If you believe you have been charged incorrectly, contact us at legal@thehockeylab.app. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy.

8. Intellectual Property

All app code, design, logos, and brand assets are the intellectual property of The Hockey Lab. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on them without our written permission.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Speed measurements are produced by computer vision analysis and are for training purposes only — they are not certified or legally binding measurements.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Hockey Lab is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile tab. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Westchester County, New York for any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the app.
